Boo! Sorry, didn’t mean to startle you! We know it has been a few weeks since you last heard from us and we felt a seasonal greeting was appropriate. As always we want to thank you for your feedback and support of the Verity beta! We hope everyone is well and staying safe. We have some exciting things to share with you today, so let’s get to it!

Today we are deploying a key component of our Holistic Analysis Tool; PunchCards (patent pending). PunchCards are a physical manifestation of focused, qualitative information – or qualitative data points/series- and allow us to present new kinds of research in an actionable framework as well as introduce exciting new types of analysis! More below.

If you wish to speak with us directly, please don’t hesitate to contact us at hello@verityplatforms.com to schedule a call.

? Codename PunchCards (patent pending)
Until now, one of the major problems in sustainable finance was that the highest quality -and most material ESG research- was being produced in a form (qualitative) that didn’t match the (quantitative) input requirements of legacy tools. Quantitative comparative analysis has long served as the backbone of finance as it allows for “apples-to-apples” comparisons and thus, more easily enables actionable conclusions. Today, we are introducing PunchCards (patent pending), a critical step towards changing that and a key component in our forthcoming Holistic Analysis tool (patent pending). Through our tool, individuals can hone in on focused qualitative data and perform the three comparisons most commonly found within comparative analysis: historical, peer and benchmark to arrive upon actionable insights.

But…that is truly just the beginning…

What can make this feature even better? Seamlessly transitioning back and forth between quantitative and qualitative analysis to gain a more holistic understanding of a concept. With a click of a button, take your existing workspace and transform your analysis from quantitative to qualitative and back again.

A quick hypothetical: if one was trying to incorporate the potential financial consequences from climate risks into their analysis, which approach allows the individual to best understand that impact: a dollar amount or focused qualitative assessments of each risk? At Verity, we’d argue for the latter while simultaneously wondering aloud, “why choose?” A data series is nothing more than a set of information used to characterize a trait of a given target, and very often that series can be expressed both quantitatively and qualitatively. In other words, whether one is provided with a single numerical value or explanations of several components, each approach combines to characterize the whole (of a concept) .

ex 1. Estimated Financial Impact of Climate Risks = $$$
ex 2. Estimated Financial Impact of Climate Risks = Risk1 + Risk2 + Risk3…

or
ex 3. Estimated Financial Impact of Climate Risks = $$$ = Risk1 + Risk2 + Risk3…

While it’s still very early, we are introducing PunchCards today because we want your feedback! Thus far we’ve only loaded one data set as a proof-of-concept, but expect to find a substantial amount of data added over the coming few weeks that will take advantage of this feature (including those shown below). Our Holistic Analysis Tool are beginning to take shape and we sincerely can’t wait to show you what’s next!

? Holistic Analysis: How Does a Company Manage Issues Down Its Spine?
How well positioned is a company to manage an issue? How does that oversight flow from Board, to Management and then operationally integrated? How does a company compare to a peer? To a sector or industry benchmark? How has the oversight changed over time? Analyze all of this and MUCH MORE via Verity’s PunchCards and Holistic Analysis Tool!
* Both PunchCards and Holistic Analysis Tool are patent pending
** You will be able to perform the exact analysis shown below once we push the next batch of data to production. Stay tuned!

? Bug Fixes and Structural Improvements

There have been substantial structural improvements made to the platform related to stability and usability. Some areas include…
  • Time Series Analysis
  • Payments
  • Engagements
  • PunchCards
